The Chien Lee Consortium, proud owners of Barnsley Football Club, have pledged 1% of their wealth, some £80 million pounds, for player recruitment this coming summer. A spokesman said, "It is the first stage in our vision for Barnsley to become a global player in football. We will fund all that is required to achieve our aims and look forward to Mr Morais (who has worked under the Manchester Utd coach Jose Mourinho) leading us in the Champions League within three seasons".
The spokesman said Mr Lee thought today would be an appropriate date to make this announcement
