I think the squad as a whole this season bar maybe Sharp and Clarke just doesn’t have goals in it. It’s hard to train in it’s more about technique and confidence. When Lundstrum is 2 yards out and just needs to tap it in the net but decides to blast it and it just missed the corner flag you know there’s an issue. How many other players just Skyed it as well? All they needed to do was keep it down and on target.

A fit Freeman might have contributed a few but next season isn’t just about the strikeforce, it’s about getting goals throughout the team and keeping it tight at the back. We missed Steaman today and obviously Blackman. I think we’d have won with those 2 in the side, both are vastly underrated IMO.

No where in site first half tip tapping side to side square and backwards
Second half more direct played well for 25 mins then reverted back to first half tactics.
Wilder should not pick Brooks from start not up to it yet
Evens poor so youve lost 2 subs straight away
Great support but dont get owt for 25 mins play UTB

its laughable really a mean if ya said hit the ball 50 yards wide from right in front of goal to go for a throw he just couldnt do it,but when asked to slot it past the keeper from phucking kissing distance he does the impossible and a throw it is. lol. clarkes header after he scored ,dont put it in the keepers hands from six yards put in the 24 foot target ,straight in his hands lmao. fleck instead of shooting with his left from six yards trys to bring it back inside and gives it away. its phucking comical.

    Lundstram 3
    Duffy 2
    Fleck 2
    Carruthers 1
    Coutts 1.

Those figures totally back up your comments Gray
    Clarke 17
    Sharp 12
    Donaldson 5
    Brooks 2

36 from the forwards, 9 from the midfield and 7 from the defenders ( I have not counted Wilson's sole effort) is a pitiful ratio from the rest and shows that, regardless of how many chances we make, we do not have the converters to make it count.

It also means we have to create more chances than most other teams to score a goal- not a good recipe for success.

wonder how many chances each one of them have had an all
clarke 17 goals from 60 chances
    sharp 12 from 70
    donald 5 from 25
    brooks 2 from 10

    duffy 2 from 15
    fleck 2 from 17
    lunds 3 from 15
    defenders 3 from 20

total goals 46 goals from 232.
then theres half chances or good positions ie crosses or a good pass needed an we squander the chance
    it amounts to phuckin loads.
we are getting something very very very right ,but the main thing very very very very very wrong, putting ya chances away. Wilder must be phucking feeling very sick at the chances we,ve had

Just got back, went on't train and i have to say we were dreadful in't first half and cudda been 2-0 darn at H/T.Barnsley then cudda/shudda scored early in't 2nd half to mek it 3 but i thought for 20/25mins in't 2nd half we were gunna run up a cricket score. It looked poor from Moore for their 2nd goal Hamill hardly hit a screamer did he? After that it was very much end to end,Broooksy startin dint work,Flecky up to scorin was poor and Evans gave the ball away more than Monty used too.A very disapointin result and Boro are 2-0 up at H/T against the Scabs but we've only oursens to blame we aren't in a far better position in't table.UTCB

No they'd still miss because they are conditioned in their minds to miss, they are not brave or positive enough in their minds to make sure they don't miss

It's a bit like making games of football 88 minutes long instead of 90
We'd still let more last minute goals in than everybody else because it's part of our clubs DNA to be losers.

    19.8 % conversion ratio.

Trying to find comparable statistics for teams but could only find conersion rates of top Eoropean strikers ( which is not a real comparison!) and they avearge circa 35% goals to efforts which puts Clarke into the acceptable category.

Just found the PL conversion target for this year and MCFC & Manure are at 20.9% and the rest BELOW our conversion rate!

Second half only one team in it for nearly the whole 45 minutes but you can't legislate for poor goalkeeping and lazy defending. Its not about scoring goals we got two away from home its about stopping them and we need a better goalkeeper and centre backs than we had today. Very frustrating Barnsley were there for the taking at 1-2.
    Agreed LST
