    I remember one game when we were frantically attacking the Smethwick to get a win or a draw (can't remember). The opposition defender hoofed it into touch halfway towards the BRE....Ossie dashed to the touchline and took the throw-in!! Classic.

    Ossie was a great shotstopper, but he was too prone to making daft errors - nowhere near as good as Ben.

    I've seen all the 'keepers since the days of Jim Sanders and in my opinion Ben Foster is the best of the lot. We've had decent 'keepers in the past but never a Banks or a Shilton. Many would disagree with this, but I would put Tony Godden next in line to Foster with Osborne probably third. As with all other matters though, a matter of opinion.

    I felt Godden was the reason we didn't win the league in 78/79.
    Foster, Hoult, Kuszczak the best three followed by Osborne.

    Although a brief spell Miller was good also

    agree totally,baggies never had a truly great keeper .( they say bob Roberts was good but I’m not that old) love him or hate him cloughie always stated you get the best keeper the best centre half best striker the rest falls into place can’t argue really.
