Rooney is a great striker to have if hes playing every week,lbut hes an expensive player o just have sitting on the bench to bring on for 15/20 minutes, might be better to move him on and promote a striker from under 20's to be a bench filler, I would hope that May and Cosgrove can settle in this season and become 20+ goals a season each. It seems a big ask but you can never tell what the next season will bring.

More chance of the kid from the u20 being a 20 goal a year player than either of those 2

I’m not hugely bothered or surprised if Adam Rooney leaves.
He’s been a great signing & we’ll always be grateful for the best part of 100 goals.
Maybe it is time for him to go.
He’s not been as effective for a while.

However, I’ll caveat that by saying we HAVE to sign a replacement that is at least as good otherwise it’s lunacy as neither Cosgrove or May have done anything to suggest they’ll be half as prolific.
I reckon if Cosgrove played all 38 league games, he’d be lucky to get 6 goals.

If he lets Rooney go and replaces him with a proven goal scorer in our league like Moult then I could sort of understand it,I wouldn’t be moving Rooney on until his replacement comes in though.

If we sign some guy from league 1 or 2 in England to replace him it’s utter lunacy.
