And not so 'modrin' vica versa .... eg.Chris Lawler, Liverpool, 70s .... at school fitba, late 70s, he was the example often cited by my 'field teacher when instructin us 'lesser doon the line on the team pick .. designated tae play an unpopular position ( like one favour above goalie)' ... that the full back, whilst their team is in possession, can, at once, push forward the offside trap whilst becoming a winger ... or at least an 'assistant winger' ... so whilst Ah agree afc1903 min ... err ... nae as modrin as ye might appear tae suggest
Edit to add .... much as I think Andy Consy is overly maligned, one o' his weaknesses is that he disna dae effective attackin wing play, which, tae be fair, isna his primary job ... but when he does, he struggles tae adapt back tae his defensive full back position if play shifts direction..... but wait ... I would struggle to name more than 3, 4 at a push who have managed this effectively ... possibly none outwith the Ferguson years ... other than that, on the other side of the field, an on-form Shay Logan!
So, back on topic? .... A left sided Shay would be nae much tae ask, but would be a fυckin game changer.
