The frustration is, we should make a left back a top priority. We have an out and out right back. We have a stop gap left back who isn't going to get any faster next season. Its the button teams immediately push. A bit of pace or someone that likes to get in close to the full back and whooooosh......Big Andy is wondering how the guy just got three yards on him. We need another wide delivery man for sure. Rooney/May/Even Messi will all struggle without service. We all know Del Boy loves an English league journeyman midfielder. Expect a deeply underwhelming signing any day now. Still, you can only work with the budget you have so we'll see.
Has the panic buying started yet
I'm kind of out of touch a bit.... yup
DM saying in the press he only expects " a couple of signings before the Burnley match"
kinda ties in with what I said yesterday in that if we are signing (maybe) 4 more, we'd sign 2 prior to kicking off, with maybe the balance of the squad (maybe 2) made up of end of August loans?
If it's 2 prior to the 1st game, where is the priority?
Goalscorer (if he insits in not playing Rooney) Winger. Would say left back but as long as we have Consi and Shinnie we won’t be in market for one
If the players they have just taken in do what they are supposed to do then we don't need anyone else.
If we intend selling McKenna then it's a different story.
The starting X1 is not too bad, but there is very little back up.
And that's assuming Devlin is fit, which is a huge assumption given he hasn't played in 14 months.
Reynolds is the only back up to Devlin/McKenna and I'd rather have you at centre half.
We need at least 4 more players - ideally 5
Right winger and right back/right centre half
In terms of another central midfielder now that the McGeouch deal is dead, I think we need to give Ferguson, Campbell and Frank Ross a decent crack of the whip. With Forrester and Gleeson signed, central midfield is not a priority. McGinn gives cover in the no 10 role that I assume Forrester will take up.
Then the final two would be another striker and a left back
