Thread: Attendances this season

    Attendances this season

Have been excellent IMO. Not had a sub 7000 crowd in the league all season and for some time now. Our last game v Fleetwood saw a crowd of around 7400, one of our lowest of the season.
Pre NYS this game would have struggled to pull 3500.
We have gained around 4000 regular fans which is a significant number for a club of our size.
    Well done everyone. 👍👍

We have around 6,000 season ticket holders which is slightly down from last season, I think that’s good seeing that we weren’t popular last season
Maybe the sponsors will come back if/ when we are back in Championship

It's amazingly good, considering the performances on the pitch in 2016/17. Is this still the "new stadium effect"? Improved facilities, compared to Millmoor, must be part of the reason, and convenience of getting to the ground compared to the DVS, but I must admit that the figures are far better than I expected after the end of last season

The new stadium effect probably does still come into it. It still feels new to me, I'm still in awe, and I'm still amazed that we've got something this good. But I'm not a 'new' fan, I was there at Millmoor and Don Valley.
I do know a lot of lads who were at best, occasional supporters before NYS, who are now season ticket holders and do regular away days.

There are also loads of youngsters going to matches these days too. Far more than when I was a youngster myself. If they stick with us, then we have a decent foundation to work with, to try and keep growing.

I agree with regard to the ground. I think it has elevated us from a small club without ambition to a small club who could still get some seasons in the championship, You only have to look at the pitch compared to others in the division. Its championship quality and the sight lines are as good as any that I have been to. Although we went backwards last season, we are again moving in the right direction. Whether that results in us playing at a higher level next season remains to be seen.

I was at the game Saturday and must admit that the prospect of visiting NYS was one of the reasons I jumped through some last minute hoops to get there. The view of the game I had from NS3 Row I was one of the best I remember at a football match. Better than the one I had from the W stand on my only other trip there.

I am in the East Stand on row 13 and the views are superb. In fact they are so good that we often see things that the ref and linesman don't! LOL. Another couple of things that should be taken into consideration are that a) we are probably have the best stadium in South Yorkshire with regard to spaces for people with disabilities and, b) its a proper stadium and not 4 isolated stands, which I think makes a big difference. I always enjoy going to the stadium even if at times I come out not having enjoyed the result

I had a free ticket for you as well.

Looks like not too much damage was done to attendances from that last season in the Championship and the appointment of Paul Warne.

That's a shame Casper as the 25 quid I spent could have bought us a few beers although Frog tells a tale of you having wobbly legs after partaking of a few pints. I did have one in the NY Tavern but didn't recognise anyone off here, at least nobody had pants on their head. Mrs CA only let me off the lead at the last minute on the understanding that she could visit Meadowhall and have a 10:1 spending ratio over me At least they have me on file now at NYS so next time I'll be able to buy online.

Up to the Peterbro' game our average League game would have been around a fraction over 8k.
That's excellent for a club like ours, more home supporters needed of course however we are on the right track.
    The 8k includes away fans.

@ Hazza Has A Gazza .....we used to call Andy Hayward Hazza, you're not him or a relative by any chance ?

Get in touch next time CAM.....before you buy one online.
