Found Albert Pape (Rotherham County) card from 1922. He was a centre forward who played for County 1919-23


Also checked re Vic Wright (inside forward) - looks like he played 1929-31, according to "Now we are United" book

Hazza I have the all white and gold trim limited edition 2006 shirt, as new never worn. Only taken out of the bag for closer inspection still has the crest tag attached to it.

Plenty more pre 90's shirts, the black/silver zebra effect one along with bright yellow black slash design. Ironically one of my favourites is the dark Blue/Black stripe away shirt.

Huddersfield's away shirt this season takes some beating on that score.

The player in the picture is one Victor Wright, quite a prolific goal scorer in his day. However, Vic played for us between 1930 and 1934, long after we had begun wearing red and white. So the mystery of the early kits still remains.

Wikipedia states that the Millers red and white kit came in "around 1928" , but not sure if that is definitely correct though . Even if true, maybe the amber with black "V" was kept as an away kit?

Just rechecked "Now we are United" . Vic Wright played for the Millers in two spells 1929-31, then 1932-34. Not sure if the gap for 1931-32 season was due to a serious injury, or if he played for another club. We would definitely been playing in red and white for the latter period.

He was transferred to Liverpool near the end of 1933-4 season

And they didn't even fit properly, although there's many replica shirt wearers that probably wish shirts were just as baggy these days.

More information re Vic Wright - According to the Liverpool player archives, he played for Sheffield Wednesday in 1931-32, but only made 2 appearances

Sill haven't found any photos/drawings of the kits from "missing" RUFC years 1926-28
