Interesting stuff. I've seen photos of Thornhill United and Rotherham County in black and white striped Notts County style kits. There is also Youtube footage of Thornhill U playing in black and white "halves". Not found any early Rotherham United photos.

Hi Mike, don't know if you are still following this thread, but I did find an old cigarette card on Google, with an old player in the amber/black V shirt. However, it is just an artist 's impression, so the accuracy of the strip is in question. The player in the picture is one Victor Wright, quite a prolific goal scorer in his day. However, Vic played for us between 1930 and 1934, long after we had begun wearing red and white. So the mystery of the early kits still remains.

The training shirt is from the last season at Don Valley, 2011/12.
The Keepers shirt is from 2014/15 (but missing the sponsor for some reason)
