I think the following season under McGhee we got knocked out the cup by Raith at home after a reply too, thats 3 years in a row we got knocked out of the Scottish cup by lower league opposition, mind you it was harder in them days to win the Scottish cup
Ipox May 91 was worse, way worse, but in saying that Calderwood still should have got his jotters after the QOTS debacle.

Idve sacked him after the Queens Park game. The result would’ve been bad enough but the fact he couldn’t be @rsed even preparing for the match made it worse

I had almost forgotten about that one-should have been fired for negligence, his record in cup competitions with AFC was pretty awful, seem to also remember a scottish cup game at tannadump where we got horsed by the pikeys.

    It was far worse.
But that QotS debacle was horrific.
The beginning of the end for Calderwood.
Imo he should’ve got punted after that.

    Soutar
    Maybury Diamond Considine McNamara
    Foster Nicholson Severin Aluko
    Miller Mackie

    F....F.....S....!!!!

With the exception of Nicholson, Severin and Miller....that lineup has got to be one of the worst Aberdeen teams ever, sends shivers down yer spine just looking at it.

To be fair on Calderwood our record in the cup was awful before and after he left, still should have got sacked on the spot at Hampden though.

Its pretty much been awful since after 1993 with the odd exception. Almost 30 yrs without a Scottish cup, unthinkable back in the day.

We've won 7 Scottish cups in our 115 year existence.
Given that 5 of those were in a golden 8 year period, we've not fared very well in the Scottish cup throughout our history.

I’ll fire up the line up later but losing 2-1 to Thistle under Paterson was by far & away, the sh1ttest Aberdeen teamive seen

It was 4 in the golden era but anyway you aren't supposed to bring that up on here
