Remember a couple of years ago when Turkey shot a Russian plane down for crossing into its airspace?

Putin said that Turkey should apologise immediately or face the consequences, Turkey said 'we regret what happened but if you send another one into our airspace we'll shoot that down as well'.

All the usual suspects on here were getting a twitch on at the thought of Putin bombing a Muslim country and I pointed out that Turkey has a modern, well-equipped army so Putin will do nothing, and he did ... nothing. Actually that's not true I think he banned imports of Turkish tomatoes.

Putin likes low risk, low-hanging fruit, of which there has been quite a lot lately.

I think Trump has talent in some areas, such as illicit self-preservation, self-promotion, bullying etc.

Are you saying Trump was sending a message to the Illuminati? To the Jews? The New World Order?

Yeah, what a **** for not wanting to engage in WWIII and instead concentrating his efforts on defeating the terrorists.

I think I'll take what this guy says with a pinch of salt.
I too, hope he's a sandwich short of a full picnic. That would be better than him being correct.
He asks why would Assad drop the chemical weapons now when that was THE one thing that could put his own security in jeopardy? A good question I think. Cui Bono?

What's your opinion of the Sky cut off Jonathan Shaw interview? It would be best for us all if he's either on the Assad payroll or is a can short of a six pack too. What worries me is he didn't seem insane to me.

Some real Putin fanboys on here aren’t there? If he announced tomorrow that “it was me, I gassed those kids and poisoned that bloke and shot down that plane, and invaded that country and had most of my political opponents killed or imprisoned” they would still say it was the Jews.

To paraphrase Kenny Everett we should round up Putin, Trump, May, Corbyn, Assad, and whatever maniac is in charge of Saudi Arabia nowadays, put em in a field, and bomb the *******s.

Agree 100% and I think you'll discover that this is Trump's agenda also which is what was happening very nicely. Too nicely for some obviously!

Strange response Driller...you seem to enjoy trying to "poke" Putin to see if he responds.....this is not a game of poker.

Putin offered to give the chemical inspectors an armed escort next week to the so~called bomb site, but we refused to wait even a few days for their planned visit and start bombing days before?.....none of this makes sense.....Assad was winning, he had driven a wedge between the rebels weeks ago and offering to bus civilians out....then he drops gas on them....why?...he knew that the USA would act and he would need to hide his forces until the dust settles.

I hope Putin does nothing, as you predict....everyone needs to take a deep breath and calm down.

This random guy throws out a number of possibilities.....I quite like the "punch and run" theory, that Trump wants out of Syria, but wants to make a "big tough guy" statement before leaving as a political statement and appeasing his generals....a theme echoed by Putin in the Oliver Stone Interviews...."the West likes to act tough occasionally to appeal to the voters" he said smiling.

You really are a tw@t Basie.
I don't want Christian Europe life "diluted" to suit middle eastern, medieval culture thank you. Anyone who believes their life and the LAW should be run by a book of hate, isn't welcome here.
If you went to live in Spain, would you integrate and live by their customs?

Sadiq Khan and his running or ruining of London
He wanted stop/search halting. Hows that working out for you Sadiq?
He has 900 police personnel scanning social media for "offensive words" whilst all this is going on
He has some great mates like Louis Farrakhan who who has described Jews as ‘blood-suckers’ and called Hitler ‘a very great man’, and speaking at the same conference as Sajeel Abu Ibrahim, a member of the now proscribed Islamist organisation that trained the 7/7 bomber Mohammad Sidique Khan.

Yearh, you sit in a corner Basie, with your fingers in your ears
You a Christian European ? Hardly. More like a Christian Redneck in the Deep South who wants to arm teachers rather than give up guns. A disciple of Christ - Never.
