If we beat brechin, then qots don't have a lot riding on the game, hopefully this helps us..... But hard to be too confident of winning back to back away games with our awful seat record of last couple years ago have at a time

Stating the obvious here but we need to just concentrate on winning our games.

In a different thread someone said finishing lower than second might be better as it maybe would keep momentum going with regular games and there might be something in that. Is it possible we can keep grinding out wins? Why not.

First time for everything but i don’t think any team has ever finished lower than second and made it up.

That includes some bigger teams like sevco and us.

It’s hard enough having to beat prem team and one less two legged match is a major bonus as well as meaning we have more chance of getting to the final match.

Like others I think if we can beat Brechin and QOS then we will have it in our own hands for final day against Livi 🤞🤞🤞

Pretty sure only one team has ever gone up via the playoffs?

Hamilton when finishing second, beat the winner of falkirk v qots then hibs

We got the closest in the current set up of teams who finished 3rd/4th, came through two ties to reach the final and still being in it with 45 mins left of the final tie (after being robbed of a pen in the first leg)

Getting 2nd would be a massive boost, would give us an outside chance

Both us and Hamilton have done this.

Think he probably meant in the current set up

The three years back in the nineties was a straight two leg tie vs the Premier side

Since 2013/14 when this was introduced with the start of the SPFL, Hamilton are the only ones in the first season of it, they finished 2nd, beat 3rd place Falkirk then Hibs in the final

2014/15 Hibs 2nd Sevco 3rd, both failed, Sevco beat 4th place QotS, then Hibs, only to be thumped 6-1 on aggregate in final vs Motherwell

2015/16 Falkirk 2nd Hibs 3rd, both failed, Hibs beat 4th place Raith, Falkirk beat Hibs only to be thumped by Kilmarnock in final

2016/17 Falkirk 2nd United 3rd, both failed, we beat 4th place Morton, then Falkirk only to lose to Hamilton with the only goal over the tie coming in the second half of the second leg

Last season was a very good effort from the team we had

Not sure about the current team being able to get that far if we fail to finish 2nd

Got a bit of the fear over Brechin tomorrow

With all this no wins stuff can see the potential embarrassment of a defeat.

Normally when team give us bit of hope this season they make us suffer again.

Just hope this wee run we are on at moment might be different
