In his post match interview he has claimed they would have been worthy winners today.

Speaking after his side were beaten by a Matt Ritchie winner at the Gallowgate End, Wenger said: “It’s a bit like the story of the season.

“We had 70 per cent of the ball.

“We are 1-0 up and in the end you lose 2-1 and you wonder how we lost the game.

“That’s what happened today.

“It could have been over at half-time, we concede two goals from nowhere.

“In the second half I feel some players paid a bit physically from having the game on Thursday night in Moscow.

“We came back Friday morning.

“Overall we played with good spirit but a bad result is the outcome.

“We have to live with that. It’s very disappointing, I feel it’s very hard to swallow a defeat like that.”

Wenger was then asked if his side lacked character, he responded: “I do not want to go to definite conclusions today"
.

I'm sorry but what. . . I know Wenger is known for never seeing things and they are always "hard done by" but come on. . .

From what i saw and listened to, no way could it "have been over" by half-time and in the 2nd half there was going to be only one winner.
