    Our transfer record...

...is still Michael Owen (£16m). That's an astonishing fact when you think of today's climate market-wise in football combined with the fact that we are currently 10th in the league. We have had some tough times this season, but no matter what I'll remember it fondly; because of Rafa and because of the players playing as a team. In terms of ability they're not the best team we've ever seen here, but they make up for it big time with the dedication, fight and spirit which ended up resulting in a lot of points won.

    Everton has spent something like
£170 this season - wouldn't it be a hoot if we managed to finish above them.

What would be interesting is our net spend every season under Ashley. The Ashley lovers only ever mention the amount we spend.Interesting that one already on here mentions net spend elsewhere. It counts here as well and I bet it's minimum every season.

I mention it because that's all I ever see with Newcastle. Net spend.

I added all January transfers in as well. Not just summer.I asked about our net spend because it will show how little Ashley has spent.Cant have it both ways.If net spend is important elsewhere it is here.Put our net spend with the supposed loan that never gets paid off and free advertising,TV money etc,I think it's even obvious to you that the fat one has done very well out of us.He is the only one connected with the club that doesn't care if we go down the odd time.Just pocket the parachute payments.
