Good stuff from the Guardian reporters, neither of whom is even in Syria, one in the Lebanon, the other in Turkey. Still that's a lot closer than that guy in his bungalow in Coventry, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, he's the usual go-to source for the Guardian, wonder what's happened to him, possibly just nipped out to his local Tesco.

Our good friend Prime Minister Blair BT, when he wanted to bomb Iraq at least he had the decency to use our faulty intelligence as an excuse, and exaggerated it's reliablity. All we have now is the evidence of a five year old child, who is apparently expert at identifying the sound of a regime helicopter dropping bombs from 20 ft. underground in a cellar. Even Blair never thought of going to war on the say so of a five year old, and he was as cynical, shameless and duplicitous as they come.

It’s not funny at all! The doctors were and still in Syria treating patients. You seem to want to twist and ridicule any dissenting views and ignore witnesses who will provide evidence, knowing full well the hard evidence is being destroyed all the time the inspection team is being delayed. No doubt you believe the Russians have secured the sites and have kept them intact for the inspectors.
    Funny world you live in.

“There has been a very heavy security presence on the ground ever since the attack and they have been targeting doctors and medics in a very straightforward way,” said Tayara, a Birmingham-based physician, now in Turkey where he is supervising the departure from Syria of some of the Douma medics. “Any medic who tried to leave Douma was searched so vigorously, especially for samples. At one medical point, seven casualties were taken away. The Russian military police were heavily involved. They were directing things.

“They were looking through their WhatsApp messages and phones. The doctors were treated abusively and have been threatened ever since. Their families have been threatened that they will pay a price and they themselves have told they will be arrested, and much more if they give any evidence, or interviews about what happened in Douma.”

It's an Information War - so don't muddy the waters.

posted this earlier but bears repeating. re:assad's winning so it doesn't make sense to poison his own people.

    from french intelligence services.

Tactically speaking, this type of ammunition is used to flush out enemy fighters sheltering in homes and engage in urban combat in conditions that are more favourable to the regime. It accelerates victory and has a multiplier effect that helps speed up the capitulation of the last bastion of armed groups.

Strategically speaking, chemical weapons and particularly chlorine, documented in Eastern Ghouta since early 2018, are especially used to punish civilian populations present in zones held by fighters opposed to the Syrian regime and to create a climate of terror and panic that encourages them to surrender.
