    Southgate

Apparently attending our game vs Everton on Monday to watch the likes of Shelvey, Pickford and Lascelles i hope Shelvey gets a chance in the squad for the world cup because England's forwards would THRIVE of Shelvey's passes.

I've seen a lot of talk on twitter and not just by Newcastle fans shouting for Shelvey to be included in the world cup squad.

    Thoughts?

Can't argue with any of that. If Southgate can't see how good Shelvey would be in the England squad then he's blind. His passing would see a refreshing change to the normal boring crap of late.

Was just thinking the damage Shelvey could do with the likes of Vardy Rashford and sterling running onto his balls haha

Aye, he should go but I can still see Southgate not taking him. Citing his temperament.

He offers something different to the sideways passing Henderson. Even if you took him as a plan B.

    He'd be a must to a good England Manager/Coach.

I'm not from England so I don't have a real stake in this... But I'd be very disappointed if Southgate was the manager of the national team I support. He's slightly better than some, but worse than most IMO.

Itīs a no brainer. England underperform in every tournament they play in. They need to try something different and Shelvey is that. It could back fire? Yes but itīs worth the risk - you can always sub him.

Go to the tournament without fear and have a go. It canīt work any worse than it usually does.

Unfortunately Southgate has wasted time in trying him out to see how it goes before the tournament.

When he wants to play 3 in midfield it's a no brainer! Dier protecting the back 4, ox doing a box to box job and then shelvey spraying the ball forward for kane, all, sterling, rashford etc.

If they are playing with 3 cb's with a number 10 then he may not be as effective...but should be in the squad ahead of one of the sideways passing water carriers!
