    Eden Project for Morecambe?

If this turns out to be half as good as Crinkly Bottoms then it will really be something.

If it does happen then Morecambe could become one of the most popular seaside venues in Britain.

I visited the Eden Project in St Austell a few years ago and it was a great day out, would certainly as you say do a lot for Morecambe 59/60, would you like all the tourist though ?

I can remember plans for a gigantic Theme Park at Huncoat, on the site of the old power station, must be 20/25 years ago now, Zari I think it was going to be called. There were also plans for a new All Weather race track round Read/Simonstone way, that never saw the light of day either. Hopefully they make a bit more progress in Morecambe.

I think that would be a really tremendous economic boost for Morecambe and Lancaster.

How's the new link road working out 1959_60?

I have not had the chance to try it out yet.

Good luck 59. I don’t know the bubbles site as it’s years since I went to Morecambe. Eden and Bare go together well.
I wonder why they didn’t choose the Eden Valley.

Morecambe is improving all the time Alto but there are still areas that need sorting out.

Morecambe has always been a place that relies on tourists and if this takes off then the whole town will benefit.

Aye, I remember those two ideas. Always seemed to be pie in the sky to me. It's always good to have a dream though.

    Morning BT!

The link road has had an enormous effect on getting to Morecambe/Heysham. It was always a real ball ache getting through Lancaster..nowadays it is ten minutes from the M6. Definitely more visitors to Morecambe now and Heysham port is beginning to thrive.

I understand your thought process OC :-)

If you remember way back when Marineland was on the prom? Dolphins and chimps riding bikes? It's on that site just to the North of the Midland Hotel.

I understand that, if it happens, this project will have a maritime feel to it - maybe an aquarium, marine plants, and I have seen plans for a big floating pier going into the bay with one of the big pods on the end of it.

Apparently the rail link will need an upgrade and a big new multi-story car park being built.

Good news. I concur, Lancaster used to be a proper ball ache to get through. I'll have to nip up for a stroll on the promenade and a spot of lunch in the Midland with the wife.
