    Who is he?

Morning all. A former Queens player of yesteryear was installed in the Clyde Hall of Fame last night. Who was it? Sorry no prizes. Name: 902ABD12-DE0A-4F31-A113-1BCD33B18722.jpg

Good guy and good player too. Scored a good number of goals only to be bizarrely freed by the powers at Palmerston.

I remember a big fuss on social media ( Standard letters page ) at the time and Harkness had to explain himself, which he did not do very well.

I read about Neil Hood getting freed in Iain McCartney's 1919-2004 book. One of the bright spots in an awful season , scoring a lot of goals and inexplicably let go by Harkness.

While I am reminded , there was plenty of interesting facts in said book , but - for me - one that really stood out. Did you know that arguably Queens most famous football export Hughie Gallacher was signed by Airdrie while lying in Dumfries Infirmary ill from pneumonia. The sneaky bassas sent a delegation down to Dumfries and signed the wee man when at his most vulnerable. Queens , to no avail, tried very hard to get compensation from the Diamonds but gave up in the end up.

The letter is in the Queens Museum.
