Sean not spending big in summer

    Several papers carry this story.
We have to look at a high level of development player - not necessarily someone for £100,000 to turn into a world beater - but the kind of market for us is a few million quid.
"We can't jump to £25million for people, five times over, we've got to look not just for the next six months but the six months after that, 18 months, 24 months, and that is tough.

He's a fantastic talker is our Sean, I'd hope this is a smoke screen for a couple of gems

I expect a fair bit of the old musical chairs this summer.

Heaton or Pope, Mee, Arfield, Walters, Wells all look likely to depart and SD is not daft he knows he will need to replace them, plus add another centre back and a midfield enforcer.

If Defour and Brady are still struggling injury wise we will need to add another quality wideman. GK Nkoudou does not fit the bill.

Obviously we cant spend 25M ponds over and over on individual players--with one caveat.

If we sell players for decent money (e.g. Pope/Heaton; Mee, etc) I would expect ALL of that money to be reinvested in BUYING NEW players PLUS whatever we were going to spend, anyway.

    Don't want "sell 25 million--bought 15m isn't that lovely"?

Unless we have talent spotting staff so good they unearth another gem for peanuts.

And talent spotting isn't our great strength at present.

Oh yes, Pope and Keane make my comments seem empty but lots of bad money has been spent on crap so its monkeys and typewriters really.
