This has puzzled me for years. I wouldn't claim to be a tactical expert but why do teams set up differently at home and away ? They're pros aren't they and a pitch is a pitch give or take a few yards.

If I had to work in a different office I don't think I'd do my job differently so why, if a system works at home is it changed for away ?

Looking at our away form against poor teams like Grimsby and reading comments from those who went it seems like we (and most other teams) approach an away game differently. Why not just stick to what works ?

I wish I knew the answer. Having been to several away games our approach is definitely different. We just look like we would be happy with a draw.
