    O/T Ayr Utd

What a balls up by Ayr United and wee Jobby McCall today in getting beat by Alloa . The Honest Men looked a cert to win the title a couple of weeks ago, scoring an amazing 90 goals but may have blown up at the worst time. With one game to go , Raith know that as long as they win this Saturday , then the title and Championship football is automatically theirs.

It has been a right good battle over the entire season from the two relegated clubs from last season's Championship. Shankland's two match ban has been key for the last two games for Ayr and they're also struggling with injuries. Moore missing the penalty with the ball going over the bar, after scoring Ayr's goal at Alloa could be the difference on who wins the League One title, although Moore has scored 26 goals this season.

Alloa have yet to win over Raith but I've a feeling that they may get a draw at Kirkcaldy and if Ayr win at home over Albion Rovers then the League One title will be theirs.

Yes you are correct Albertz about Raith having the more difficult game on paper but if I was the Alloa boss I'd be resting players for the play offs that start a couple of days after.

Jim Goodwin post-match was saying that Alloa will be going all-out for the win at Kirkcaldy.

Do you remember the time in Spring 2002 when we took a massive away support to Alloa . We needed either a draw or a win to get promotion and got gubbed 4-1.

I recall that game very well. The Wasps seemed to be Queens bogey team at that time.

Was defo a big disappointment but only for a week when we clinched promotion at Palmy versus Hamilton after 13 years
and this, of course, led to us winning the league at Forfar followed up by us gubbing Morton at home in front of a crowd of over 6,000 - happy days indeed.
