When the football league expanded to more than just the one league ( back in the 1910's) the Welsh teams was invited to join as there was no true Welsh league,I can remember back in the early 90's the Welsh football league being formed and Swansea,Cardiff,Newport and Wrexham was invited to leave the English league and join if but presumably they all declined

    The early 90's, eh?

I wonder why they declined, nothing to do with the promised riches of the upcoming Premier League for Cardiff and Swansea by any chance?

They deserve to be in the English leagues due to the amount of time that they have spent in them,I'm presuming that there wasn't a lot of big clubs 100 years ago and that's why they was asked,if Scotland hadn't already had a league i bet that Celtic and Rangers would have been invited as well
