Where were the police/security? Too busy watching the fans on the police vehicles and setting flares off which maybe left innocent fans walking into trouble ?
Roma are known for using belts so why wasn’t they stopped and asked to remove them?
After the trouble with Man City you’d have thought better security wouldn’t you.

Whoever started it there was arrests on both sides

    We'll find out maybe.
G-F it is totally breathtaking to hear you accuse someone of bias. Do you not see the irony in that?

LOL I never said they were Marxist, just left-wing, which is hardly news.

This quantitative analysis of think-tank citations and the use of “health warnings” is consistent with existing evidence that the BBC exhibits a left-of-centre slant in its online reporting.

Well, i've held a low profile for a while and also just returned from hols in Thailand, i have to say the usual suspects are playing the same old race cards, reading some of the replies of grist and gf is frankly frightening.

    Hi Fire.

Respect that you have published an article that gives your opinions a bit more weight than usual.

However, I notice that you have selected an article written by the Centre for Policy Studies, a right wing think tank founded by Keith Joseph and Margaret Thatcher!Do you think there might be a touch of vested interests there?

I can easily do this with a left wing bias. Here's Owen Jones: https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...-existent-myth

there are loads of opinion articles from both left and right claiming that the BBC are biased against them.

But I think it's always more revealing to look at attempts from studies and reports from people without such a large vested interest or overt political bias generally. A quick search (only got a few mins) finds:

    https://www.independent.co.uk/voices...-a7844826.html

    https://www.newstatesman.com/broadca...how-biased-bbc

There is of course the last major study (commissioned by the BBC itself but reporting independently as the BBC have to commission independently as part of their set up which found that the BBC largely balances out, although does say that they tend to defer too much in reports towards the conservative party stance:

    http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/...t_analysis.pdf

This article below explores the notion of bias quite well with reference to how both left and right wing commentators select areas of BBC output to 'mould' their accusations of bias accordingly. One example of this would be to look only at the componant audience members of one programme (Question Time for example) and base all arguments on that one programme only, whereas other programmes might have an opposite slant:

As I've said before I think that the Beeb generally does a good job in what it does. At least it p*sses EVERYBODY off!

Or you just could watch the BBC news and see their relentless PC/ left-wing agenda, Windrush, Customs Union, Stephen Lawrence, more propaganda than news, even my Labour-supporting Dad can't watch it any more.

They should just stick to reporting the news like they used to instead of creating it.

So what specifically do you disagree with in any of the articles coming at out from a more independent stand point?

What about the media hysteria over Corbyn and the anti semitism? The beeb happily joined in that did it not? He was also hailed over the coals over recent Russia related events. Beeb went big on that too.

As these articles point out, everybody is convinced that the beeb is biased against them. I certainly was very suspicious over the last election when Laura Thingy seemed anything but impartial. The general opinion of independent studies seems to indicate a slight bias towards the Conservative party but I guess with at least 3 paid up, self confessed Conservative supporters forming the BBC political news department (including one who did the tories publicity campaign in the last election - imagine the outrage from you if that happened with a former Labour publicity guy!!) that slight bias shouldn't be a surprise! I'm grateful that it's only slight...
