    Rafa Contract and Future

I know we've all heard it before but. . .

Ashley and co are apparently ready to agree to Rafa's demands for the infrastructure improvements and to give him all the money from TV deal etc.

As well as offer him a new contract.

If this happens it'll be a good start to the summer.

FWIW I dont think Ashley will sell now as he can smell the money and continued free advertising for his company. I think he will agree to what Rafa asks for (probably play a bit of hard ball Rafa 'i'd like 40 million plus money from sales (Mitro £20m+ and Gayle £15m' Ashley 'oh come on 30m plus sales' Rafa (realising he got much less last season) 'right im happy with that') as he has finally realised he has stumbled across a top manager who actually knows what he is doing. It will mean he can get on with his other more pressing businesses (as he clearly sees them) without coping any shyte/grief and then count the coin at the end of each season for very little stress/involvement.

I was convinced once we stayed up he'd sell but. . . Now the price has gone up i don't think they'll be a buyer.

So i hope he realises he's hit on/fluked etc. a good thing with Rafa and lets him get on with it.

Aye, as said-I'll believe it when I see it.

As per Mick's thread, if Ashley stays, as long as Rafa does, so be it.

Ah just seen it in the journal. Ashley has only 2 choices - sell up or do what Rafa wants. If he’s wanting between 50 and 150 million more for the club than anyone is willing to pay then it’ll be cheaper for him to support Rafa. The only concern is that he’s going to want his money back sometime and that might only be possible in future without hurting the team if we have champions league football again....and that’s a good way off.

Surley even fat mike can see the benefit of giving Rafa money to spend in the summer after what he's done with this team and if he doesn't then he's the dumbest person on the planet.
