Reckon he might want a little more than that Clive. Particularly further afield. Nice to have a strong backline...but if the ball is going to be continually coming at you for the majority of the game, it can be a turnoff! Just think we'll need to bulk up the midfield as well in some capacity to make it a better proposition for him. Hope I'm wrong though!

I'm all for him comming back but i think he'd need certain assurances of a decent team and tactics in front of him before this happens.

Now reported as crocked with knee ligament injury (again!), and will be out for the remainder of the PL season.

Sorry, but we have enough crocks of our own, despite his past performance, do we really want to make a "significant" signing of a player with knee injury history? Wish it wasn't so (as who else would we go for?), but think we should pass on him now.

I'd love Bartley but can't help but think of it from his point of view. If he is available there isn't a championship club that wouldnt have him. Do you choose perennial 12th-16th place Leeds United on what is guaranteed to be less wages or sign for someone like Aston Villa or Boro or West Brom who have better squads, more money and better chances of going up.

With his injuries he would be a risk on anything but a pay for play contract

    Luke Ayling on Kyle Bartley.......

“I speak to him every day,” said Ayling. “I am going away with him twice this summer and I’ll be in his ear, don’t you worry about that, trying to get him back".

......... they certainly go back a long way these two.

Both played in the Arsenal 2009 FA Youth Cup winners team as 'central' defenders.

Bartley has had a similar injury to Max Gradel and as Bournemouth found out that particular injury can be a career problem regardless of careful there after management of it.
