Recruitment is key over the summer whatever division we end up in . If we are still in the championship these guys could be decent - and all out of contract!

Alex Schalk - cf- Ross County
    Craig Halkett - cb- Livingston

    Ryan Hardie -am- Livingston
    Laurence Shankland -cf- Ayr
    Craig McGuffie -lm- Ayr

Some of these could probably do a job in the Prem too.

Some of them I think we might need to be in the Prem to attract like Schalk

Let’s try and get these play offs won and then it’s happier days for the summer

Yep I'd go with Stevie Campbell. I had heard that Shankland was on trial with us same time as Mc Donald and we went for the latter. I think it is Shankland 30 goals, Mc Donald 13! And Shankland probably not even on half of Mc Donald's wage!

Ye he was on trial but McKinnon thought McDonald was a better bet think proved wrong. McDonald leaving after play-offs by all accounts

Hindsight is a wonderful asset, no blame attached to Ray with that decision. I think just about every Arab would have thought McDonald was the safer bet there.

No argument there. I was happy to have signed Skippy.

But we are finished the core season. Given what we now know, and his attitude is part of that, I still say good.

mcdonalds hasnt been great but not too disappointed by him over the season . A past it over paid striker whos main attributes during his career are no longer there and still managed to be top scorer when he has hardly played up top. i think some people just expected abit too much from him thinking we were getting the mcdonald from celtic.

i can see why he gets a bad rap though. his attitude does annoy me. makes a bad pass then throws his arms up then blames the guy he was meant to be passing to.

p.s. would still have picked SM over shankland. not impressed by him. been on loan at championship teams before and done very little maybe found his level in league 1? see what he does next year if in championship.

I am willing to reserve judgment on McDonald until after the play offs.

If he scores us some goals to get through and then a hat trick against the Fun in the final then he gets my support

    Season not over yet
