Neil Warnock will celebrate 8 promotions if he takes Cardiff up to the Prem this weekend, (one of which was with Notts). This would make him the most successful manager ever in terms of promotions. Three other managers in the past 50 years have gained 7 promotions. Name them.

It should be pointed out that in order to win 8 promotions you also have to have a few relegations and sackings on your CV. Well done Colin all the same, even if I would rather see Fulham in the top flight than Cardiff. Btw, two promotions were with Notts.Originally Posted by sidders

Great achievements. These guys, plus Warnock, show that it's a real knack and the mark of a special manager. Once someone has 2 or 3, they should be on any clubs radar for their next manager

New question, many of our ex-managers since 2009/10 have had promotions with other clubs. Can you name them (also kind of shows that 1 promotion can be a flash in the pan). Can you name 4 and who they got promoted?

Steve Cotteril - Bristol City (L1 to Champ)
Martin Allen - Gillingham (L2 to L1)
Mark Cooper - Forest Green Rovers (NL to L2)
John Sheridan - Chesterfield (L2 to L1) prior to Notts.

Good. I reckon 2 of them have done it at other clubs as well.
Maybe the second promotion is the mark of the really good manager
