A loyal socialist and former shop steward. Hope he pulls through.

You sound like one of the black lives matter freaks here.

Would you have been so generous had he been a royal etc?
He's the greatest football manager this country has had. Has feck all to do with socialism etc.
I hope he recovers, the game needs his insights not strike advice.

Have to agree, it’s really sad news but as a ‘socialist’ he’s enjoyed the trappings of one of the most capatilist industries on the planet and I’m sure he is most likely getting the best medical treatment money can buy.

I welcome the moderation, if it's being done evenly and also to Trolls whose sole reason for posting, is to get a reaction from people.

Two in particular I've brushed with in my short membership and history shows that the same two have been involved in other ugly stuff with other members..

One of these 'peop[e' has even started a thread about me, lovely man .....mods?

And the first two posts were from a couple of the board's resident non-socialists, which illustrates the point really. Sir Alex Ferguson is one of Britain's all-time great football managers and deserves best wishes from anyone who loves football.

Bit of a leap there Sol. And an insulting one at that. I dont know Swale well, but well enough to know he isnt a bigot. The reality is that without an active editor to keep an eye on things here, stuff gets through because people have lives and might only pop on here occasionally when they get chance. If something is off, report it - some reports were going to my spam folder but hopefully thats sorted now.

To return to the original point of this thread, I hope Sir Alex recovers fully. He hasn't had surgery for a brain tumour by the way, it was for a bleed on the brain.

I spoke to his PA several times when the Jimmy Sirrel night was being organised. She said that whenever Jimmy rang Alex Ferguson, he would always take the call and they spoke for ages. He couldn't make the night as I think Man U were abroad, but recorded a very touching video message to Jimmy. That's class.

Well said. Swale is a good bloke and deserves a bit more respect for giving his time keeping us all in order on MAD . Well trying his best ! Can't be easy with the likes of Elite and Sidders. Me , I'm a dream.

I always had a lot of respect for his achievements, but Sir Alex went up a bit more in my estimation when he attended Jimmy's funeral in person. If I remember correctly I think Man U had a game that night, so it would have been easy for him just to send a message of sympathy and make the game his priority. Forget how good a manager he was, to me this shows that he never forgot his roots and his friends, and as Cher just said, "That's class".
