You shouldn't be leaving the Frogs out of this BT. After we nicked it off the Turks, we were content to leave the Arabs running the show from Damascus. But after the Paris Peace conference had granted France a mandate over Syria they rolled their tanks into Damascus and booted out King Faisal. We on the other hand were much more magnanimous and sympathetic to the Arab cause. Britain had been granted the mandate over Iraq, but decided to take a back seat, create a monarchy and install Faisal as King.

Incidentally Faisal also accepted the Balfour Declaration's aim in 1919 of establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine,

"We Arabs ....look with the deepest sympathy on the Zionist movement....we will do our best to help them (the proposals) through....we wish the Jews a most hearty welcome home".

So King Faisal was in no doubt about where the Jews homeland was. And that was 99 years ago.

in context - that would that be the Paris Peace conference of 1919....when Emir Faisal (Arab Movement) and Chaim Weizmann (Zionist Commission to Palestine) worked an agreement of Full Cooperation.

His Royal Highness the Emir Feisal, representing and acting on behalf of the Arab Kingdom of Hedjaz, and Dr. Chaim Weizmann, representing and acting on behalf of the Zionist Organization, mindful of the racial kinship and ancient bonds existing between the Arabs and the Jewish people, and realizing that the surest means of working out the consummation of their natural aspirations is through the closest possible collaboration in the development of the Arab State and Palestine, and being desirous further of confirming the good understanding which exists between them, have agreed upon the following:

“We must expel Arabs and take their place.” - Ben-Gurion.

“The old will die and the young will forget” - Ben Gurion, wishful thinking that the Palestinian refugees would simply disappear...how wrong he was.

"We know too well that freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians" - Nelson Mandela.

Mandela knew about these things. He opposed living in a similar apartheid state in South Africa. The rest is history.

Cue someone telling us that Mandela was a terrorist and his thoughts are not valid....

I really can't let a comment like that pass without comment.

According to a 2013 census there are approximately 1.6M Arabs living in Israel who identify themselves as Arab or Palestinian by nationality and Israeli by citizenship.

There have been Israeli Arab members of the Israeli parliament ever since the first elections in 1949. There have been 81 past and present Arab members.

You have obviously never been to Israel but like to make observations based on what?

    "similar apartheid state"?

Every Israeli citizen, Arab, Christian or whatever religion, can go to integrated schools and travel on integrated buses and go to any restaurant or sporting/entertainment venue.

You have maliciously mixed the physical separation of non-Israeli citizens such as the so-called Palestinians from freely accessing Israel with apartheid.

Its no different to saying that the English border and customs police are practicing apartheid to those that wish to enter Britain; even if those wishing to enter are terrorists.

Poor choice of words my friend.

No, Ben-Gurion did NOT say “We must expel Arabs and take their place.”

Even the most thoroughly debunked false claims about Israel often have a way of resurfacing in some form or another on social media or at mainstream news outlets.

Here’s what Ben-Gurion actually wrote in the letter in question.

“We do not want to and we do not have to expel Arabs and take their place.”

Though, it’s rare to see this completely discredited quote appear anymore at ‘mainstream’ news outlets, on April 25th, The Irish News (of Belfast) published a letter which included the following claims:

The scene was set in 1937 when Ben Gurion, the first prime minister of Israel, in a letter to his son wrote “Negev land is reserved for Jewish citizens, whenever and wherever they want… we must expel Arabs and take their places… and if we have to use force, then we have the force at our disposal…”. This was, and is, the Zionist mindset before the great Estate Agent in the sky decided who really owned the land of Palestine.

In addition to the false quote concerning “expelling Arabs and taking their place”, the letter also distorts Ben-Gurion’s words concerning the Negev and the use of force. Here’s the actual sentence, again, translated into English by CAMERA.

All of our ambitions are built on the assumption that has proven true throughout all of our activities in the land [of Israel] — that there is enough room for us and for the Arabs in the land [of Israel]. And if we will have to use force, not for the sake of evicting the Arabs of the Negev or Transjordan, but rather in order to secure the right that belongs to us to settle there, force will be available to us.

..........as the letter writer put it, was not that Arabs should be expelled, but, rather, that there was room for both peoples in the land.

This is a MUST see that believe in the innocents of Gaza,

While the UN is condemning Israel for defending itself against terror organization Hamas, the rest of the world has fallen into the Muslim terrorists' propaganda. Those images speak for themselves. The so called "Palestinians" has one ambition. To obliterate Israel. Their supporters have the same.

How have the indigenous Palestinian Arabs of thousands of years heritage suddenly become "so called Palestinians" on here?

It seems strange to me that the same proponents of the term all love our so called Royal Family.

    Weird.

    BT :

Lets look , indigenous, means .....originating or occurring naturally in a particular place; native.

Sorry these arabs were the usurpers and came from what is today, S Arabia.

In the Old Testiment you wil not find the word Palastine ,you may find Philistines, but they were invaders from somewhere near the Greek islands and were traders on the seas.

I am sure you know the history here and know it was the Romans that gave it the name Syria Palestina
