Thread: Long

We will not pay what Swansea want for Mawson, no chance, not happening, move on please?

It's Dawson not Mawson who will be at the Turf next season!

Not so sure BT.Swansea are in a mess of their own making at the moment and I doubt Mawson would want to stay. Not sure about price but if we could get him I wouldn't be disappointed. He has been one of the few successes at Swansea this season.

Kevin will be popular in Bournemouth though, his slip gave them an extra £2m as they moved up a place, (or two if you count the equaliser)
Hope Eddie remembers that should we need some help next year.

    Not techy Army.

Burnley (7th) conceded 39 league goals in which long contributed massively.

Swansea (relegated) conceded 56 goals in which Mawson was a main defender.

WBA (relegated) conceded 56 goals in which Dawson was a main defender.

I wouldn't swap Long for either.

Some of you also wanted to ditch Ward. Some also think that we should cash in on Pope. Lowton has taken flack.

    Mee may possibly be leaving.

Our success has been based on stability and continuity with slow but steady progression.

If we lose Mee, Pope and Long then I can't see us being anywhere near as good at the back as we have been this season.

Luckily, we have a manager who realises this and if Long goes I will show my arse.

But yes, we certainly need one (or two if Mee goes) central defenders.

Lawton for me been our steady rock all season , I don't want rid of ward but he's cost us points of late switching off and I believe he's a bit leggy ( Taylor I think could have come back in ) .
Mee I've posted makes us stronger though he does have a blunder in him ( I'm not sure if he leaves what there is to gain - by that I mean if it's for England prospects south gate has watched him and Tarky - Kean and hasn't picked him --- maybe just wants a change .
We'd be mental to sell pope regardless of Heatons position.
