It's usually that they are banned unless they appeal it, in this case they would deal with the appeal pretty sharpish and have the result of his appeal before Friday. If an appeal is considered to be frivolous they can add another game to the ban.

But he still has 24hrs to 'respond', so that means appeal?

I thought it could mean that he officially accepts the charge when he responds i.e guilty or not guilty, how do you plead?
