Thread: Kari Arnason

    Kari Arnason

I've just seen on Sky Sports News that he has been released by Aberdeen. I think he could be a great asset as part of the coaching staff.

If we are still in league 1 next season he could also still do a job for us.

Young hungry player, I don’t think so.

Absolutely agree. That he could still do a job for us in league one.

Warney tried to sign him in the January window last season but he went to Cyprus instead. I agree with Warne wanting young hungry players, ideally 24 and under but you still need a couple of old heads in the squad and you won't get many better than him on our budget. Arnason was a class act for us and I'd give him a year even if it's just for the younger players to learn off him, he'd be fully aware he'd be unlikely to play every week at his age.

We have a couple of old heads already in Wood and Potter but if another old head is required Árnason would be excellent as he can play midfield and defence.

Did no one watch the Scottish FA Cup semi-final? Aberdeen lost 3-0 to Motherwell and Arnason was badly at fault for all three goals.

Given how well Iceland are doing recently, coaching role might be useful to attract young Icelandic players.

He made a fair few mistakes when he was here as well.

Don't really need another error-prone defender, or another one with no pace, he would be both.

Coaching staff maybe, looks the intelligent type.
