Rondon only has one year left on his contract, and his £16m release clause has an immediate impact on the future of fellow Albion forward Jay Rodriguez.

Burnley are keen to resign Rodriguez, who came through the youth ranks of his hometown club, and are preparing a bid for the 28-year-old. But the Clarets have been told to wait and see whether anyone matches Rondon’s fee.

Albion do not wish to sell Rodriguez, who was top scorer last season after joining from Southampton for £12m. Not the done deal then!

When a top PL club wants to sign a Championship player, then the wishes of said Championship club count for little. The PL club always wins in the end, welcome home Jay.

If Jay Rod wants to come home badly enough he will force a deal through.

You know how it works OC.

Wolves are up to something, 11 days after buying Afobe from Bournemouth for 10m they have loaned him to Stoke with an obligation to buy in January. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44455348
Seems a bit strange or are they now going for a top striker from somewhere. one things for sure they seem to be getting business done early.

They sold him to Bournemouth in 2016 for €13.3 and took him back on loan two years later. They just paid €14.2 to get him back info from Transfermarkt. I can’t see Stoke paying more than that so as you say it’s a bit strange.

Jay £12m and Dawson £8m on TM. I can’t see this bid being enough unless WBA are desperate to get money and to lose wages.

Presuming that any of the above guesswork is true as the vast majority of clubs are not obliged to reveal actual transfer figures and in truth almost never do.
