See if we can get Flint for 7 and Jay at 18 then, plus a little extra for Joe Bryan, maybe 5m job done.

I'm not certain, but I think Flint is signing for Middlesbrough?

It's a bloody good job we have loads of kids breaking through.

How the hell did we finish 7th in the PL when we have such a useless crowd running the club ---they should let the fans do it and see where we end up, they seem to have a lot more knowledge than those doing the job.

Having said that, it seems to be a common thing these days that those not involved with things can always do better than those actually doing the job. Strange society.

Not sure about that Supersub, SD picked up two England goalkeepers for a total of one million quid, got three fully capped England outfield players for another £17 million and a whole array of other internationals for not a lot of dosh.

I don't think anyone is really complaining in how we conduct our business, it's just that the expectations for new arrivals was understandably higher this season and the transfer window closing is not that far off!

Europe beckons and still not one reinforcement through the door. It's the hope that kills you.

After 67 consecutive years, I would have thought that I should have been dead long ago!!
Expect nothing and you will never be disappointed ----don't worry about things which you can't affect. No wonder I am a happy chappy with no worries ---thank you, mum, for those two gems which have helped me through a very full life and will continue to do so for a few years more!

I do appreciate what you are saying BT, however, I do tend to let others worry about our football club, it seems to have survived quite well during my lifetime and probably will after I am gone!

The club have identified a different prospective signings for each position and have begun to open dialogue.

Just confirms something Nixon said yesterday on Twitter, he was asked about news on WBA players to Burnley, and replied something on the lines of 'still big money'.

I really do hope we have walked away this time, let WBA stew with their unsettled players, instead of stringing us along all summer.

I'm not sure we were surviving quite well in 87 Supersub, someone almost switched the life support machine off that season. And I believe we weren't that far off admin the year we won promotion at Wembley, directors were having to sub wages out of their own pockets.

I think we should have moved on from negotiations with West Brom 2-3 weeks ago.It was obvious then they were playing hardball. So much for them being skint. However I do feel it will be a good thing because Jay Rod is not much if any of an improvement on our current strikers. He would have added a slightly different dimension but not a lot.
