No rumours to report either. Is this going to be like Brexit where it all kicks off with a day to go - or doesn’t kick off at all?

Sean says the season will carry on regardless, indeed it will, and at the end of the season three teams will be relegated regardless. A failure to strengthen the squad just makes it more likely we're one of them.

The idea simply must be at the back of his head that he's taken this club as far as he can, that there is nowhere else for him to go with us, and if he loses his enthusiasm, gets fed up with banging his head against a brick wall, we'll be, fairly quickly, following Stoke and WBA. This was never going to last forever, but if we don't bring in two or three of the players Dyche wants, then it won't last much longer at all.

Extremely pessimistic attitude on a lovely Monday morning is that sinkov.

In reality we need another centre back and a player to replace Scotty, after that we are just bulking up the squad.

I have a sneaky suspicion that SD wants to prove after all the graft he has put into the Development Squad it will bear fruits.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility he might use a few of the kids for the Cup games and bench warming?

Put yourself in his place BT, he's always said he won't be here forever, he's not a man for standing still, if he can't move forward with us, he'll be looking for somewhere where he can. It's the trolley-dash again though, I really had hoped those days were behind us.

He was, is well aware of the transfer policy that BFC has and has used it well during his time with us. The current lack of movement will have come as no surprise to him.
I have no doubt that the squad will be added to and with the right people for BFC. The gaffer knows what he is doing.....

    A youngster

YORK City have today confirmed that academy winger Vinnie Steels is wanted by Premier League club Burnley and has indicated a desire to move to Turf Moor.
The Minstermen are now in talks with Burnley over the possibility of a compensation package.

Steels, still only 16, joined City in February after leaving Vanarama National League North rivals Darlington
He made his first-team debut as a substitute against Nuneaton Town on April 10 and his first start four days later against Gainsborough Trinity. He made two further appearances as a substitute against FC United of Manchester and Brackley Town.

Due to City's current status as a non-League club, they do not have the protection of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) which guarantees compensation for youth and academy players if they are snapped up by a League outfit.
League rules also prevent English clubs offering professional terms to players under the age of 17.

City's sporting director, Dave Penney, said: "This is a great opportunity for Vinnie to move to a Premier League club and we wish him all the best.

"Burnley have complied with all the rules and gave seven days' notice, last week, of their intentions to approach the player. Both Vinnie and his agent will now be free to talk to Burnley's representatives on Wednesday.
"As we are no longer protected by the EPPP, we have little protection against the biggest clubs when it comes to holding on to our best young players."
Steels had been offered a professional contract by City and was scheduled to sign the paperwork on his 17th birthday next month.

You might have said that OC, the transferring out of players under Dyche has never bothered me. Dyche himself is a different matter, some fans think there are other managers out there who could keep us up. I really hope we don't have to put that theory to the test any time soon.
