    Sporting Fans attack their players

    Is the article - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...raining-center

But very basically - Sporting CP forward Bas Dost was injured by a group of men who gained access to the team's dressing room at their training centre.

Dost was one of several players assaulted as 50 hooded men also attacked physiotherapist Mario Monteiro and assistant Raul Jose Manager Jorge Jesus and players William Carvalho and Rui Patricio were also reportedly involved and midfielders Josip Misic and Rodrigo Battaglia were also treated for their injuries.

    Bloody hell!

Got off relatively lightly by the sounds of it. If it was the club's own supporters then why on earth would the players want to play even one more game for that club?

I know, says at the bottom of article, or on twitter (can't remember which place i read it) that several players are trying to get their contracts cancelled, agents citing safety concerns etc.

Bas Dost will be out of their next game as well because of this.

Man, what a bunch of morons.

Is it like Italy where the clubs are frightened of their 'ultras' and give them access to the players and let them get away with stuff that would get them lifetime bans over here?

    No, me neither.

Thought they were like the Bournemouth or Watford of European football fans.

I remember this a couple of years ago. Apparently the new manager had links to Levski Sofia's main rivals.

That’s nothing - in Brazil last werk supporters forced entry to training and invaded the pitch, one of them brandishing a pistol - I think it was Vasco.
