    "It's not what you do, it's the way that you do it" or something like that

    I know it's a bit of a "puff" piece for Bristol, but the article makes for interesting reading when you consider what has ben said recently about what we need to spend in order to have a better prospect of promotion;

    No matter how funds have been made available (parachute payments, investment from outside, player sales etc etc),, there seems to be no clear pattern regarding what has been spent driving league position, and thats across the whole division, not just particular segments (who finished in the top 6 & why for instance).

    So, billionaires might be a "nice to have", but they're not essential, small-fry clubs have done well without spending gazzillions, others have spent a fortune and will be "enjoying" league 1 football next season, so whats the secret?

    Agree with WTF, not fussed about spending much on players this pre/season, but i would like to see some cash spent on the coach, there lies the common denominator, noone gets promoted without a decent coach, and we DONT have one.

    Players wise, if we could only sign one, itd be Bartley for me, though that said, worst case, we have some good players coming through at full back, i think de bock will improve, not a bad player overnight surely?(imagine making your debut in a new country for a new team, and having to play alongside Cooper and Pennington ffs!) i think Ayling will move to CB.
