Decent draw although I was hoping for Spartans away. Haven’t been to Fir Park since the Challenge Cup final and a trip to Ainslie Park would be great. Fixtures next week.

I expect the Stranraer friendly will be ditched.

Had completely forgotten that Edinburgh City are playing at Ainslie Park just now. An away trip there please!

Very happy with the draw and I would be disappointed if we don`t come 2nd but we saw last year that we can fail to get out of the group when we had a decent draw.

I have had a look at last year fixtures and I am trying to predict the order of the fixtures again which I got right last year using this method but of couse tv games plus Spartans matches as Edinburgh City are currently ground sharing with them could change this order.

    Group G

    Stranraer

    Saturday 14 July
    Stranraer v Motherwell, 3.00pm

    Clyde v Edinburgh City, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Saturday 21 July
    Stranraer v Clyde, 3.00pm
Motherwell v Queen of the South, 3.00pm
Tuesday 24 or Wednesday 25 July
    Edinburgh City v Stranraer, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Clyde v Motherwell, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Saturday 28 July
    Motherwell v Edinburgh City, 3.00pm
Queen of the South v Clyde, 3.00pm

    Group H
    Kilmarnock
    St Mirren
    Dumbarton
    Queen's Park
    Spartans

    Saturday 14 July
    Spartans v Kilmarnock, 3.00pm
    Queen's Park v St Mirren, 3.00pm
Tuesday 17 or Wednesday 18 July
    St Mirren v Spartans, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Dumbarton v Queen's Park, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Saturday 21 July
    Spartans v Dumbarton, 3.00pm
    Kilmarnock v St Mirren, 3.00pm
Tuesday 24 or Wednesday 25 July
    Queen's Park v Spartans, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Dumbarton v Kilmarnock, 7.30pm or 7.45pm
    Saturday 28 July
    Kilmarnock v Queen's Park, 3.00pm
    St Mirren v Dumbarton, 3.00pm

Having done both group G & H using past 2 years method it turns out Spartans & Edinburgh City both are home for the first Saturday so something will have to change maybe different order or move one to Sunday but I look forward to seeing the order of matches when confirmed.

Worst case scenario in my book.Would love Motherwell and Stranraer away on the Saturdays, but that will not happen."Old bag" will be happy with Motherwell away on a Saturday as that will be another ground "ticked off" on the list.
