Best away fan experience in L2

Following on from the "Meadow Lane best away fan experience in L2" thread..... what are our votes for the best / worst away ground.

For fan friendliness & welcome - defo Colchester. I have never been to such a friendly atmosphere. At the time they needed to beat us to get into play-offs, but the welcome I personally got was unprecedented. So many Colchester fans thanked me for coming, shook my hand and asked about the journey, about what the trip was like and so on.....not to mention wishing us good luck in the game - despite them needing a win....total respect.

For food - defo F****t Green. Loved the curry slot outside. Was not particularly great food, but the idea was nice.

For lack of atmosphere - Swansea. Even at 8-1 still no song. Why do they bother going !

For worst away fan treatment by police - Grimsby. The fact they escorted us over a bridge to nowhere was ridiculous. 2000 fans climbing over a wall to get on a path to Cleethorpes ... absolutely from the 70's. Treated like hooligans not spectators.

If it's any consolation it was just the same in the 70s. Got off the coach and a police inspector on horseback barked at our fans to show some respect. About half of them had sandwiches, a flask and a tartan blanket. So earn your respect, Plod.

Leicester in the 90's, cops were to ss ers, waietd for us outside the train station and herded us using horses which were often used to stand on or barge people, horrible tw a ts they were.

To many to think of back in the bad old days but the one that sticks out was definitely Chelsea . I had travelled up to London from Portsmouth to watch Forest ( more an excuse for a piss up in the smoke ) and arranged to meet some mates who were Forest fans . We all got a bit of a slap that day. Best fans this season , Accrington . Worse, Chaventry .

I have been to Colchester and I totally agree, a lovely friendly place and had great banter with their supporters, about 10/11 years back I went to Grimsby on a cold and wet Tuesday night for a match and apart from the grub it was a horrible experience, I will also throw in Fulham as a lovely ground to visit, FA cup some years ago and if I remember right they beat us 4-0, went to the pub after and was asked to sit with a bunch of their fans, just a great experience overall (bar the result)
