    Neves out!

Ruben Neves has missed the final cut to the Portugal Squad that is going to the World Cup. He is in good company as Nani has also been left out of the squad.

From a selfish point of view, in some ways it will be good for us, as the young man will gain a well earned rest, and be ready to take the Premiership by storm next season.

He is still only just 21 years old and I am sure he will have many more opportunities on the World stage.

Based on this season I can't help but feel his time will come.

I'm glad Neves has missed out, he would probably only have warmed the bench if he had made the squad. It's good news for Wolves and in years to come Neves will make the squad for his Country.

Tim Spiers is reporting that Neves is about to sign a new 5 year contract, running through the 2022-23 season. If true, good on Wolves and shows our ambitions. I don’t think he’ll be here the entirety of the contract as it won’t be long til a Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or big Spanish club come calling. But I’m sure there’s a bigger buy out clause in the new contract so that will be good for us when he does decide to move on.
