    The FA Cup

It only seems like 50 years ago since we last won the Cup

I feel very lucky to have been a fan during the 60's. There were some great moments and memories. So many ups and really downs followed that 1970 League Cup defeat to Man City. I think I would actually put the promotion match at Oldham above the '68 Wembley win for emotion and atmosphere. Another moment that sticks with me is Swansea away, first leg. Losing 2-0 in the second half. Crammed in behind the goal. Burgess throwing himself at the ball, it balloons up in the air. It drops towards the goal, clips the bar and rebounds in off the Swansea player. That for me was the defining moment that we needed to get to the play off final. Then there are the Woking type results, the farce of missing three penalties in one game and the countless throwing away of two goal leads. Such is the life of an Albion fan.

I couldn’t give a toss about the FA Cup once we make our early exit.

As soon as the old Wembley was knocked down it killed it for me.

    I hate that new monstrosity.

Still my favourite Albion side the mid to late 60's one. Four finals in 5 years winning two of them. The season we didn't get to a final we got to the semis and Cup Winners quarters.
Played some great attacking football, a little too gung ho at times but great fun.
Clive Clark, my favourite Albion winger, 98 goals for us.
    Great players great times.

We've played there twice already, hopefully 3 times lucky next season.

We got a draw the third time we played at the new Wembley (Spurs) so here's hoping it's the start of an 'up'ward trend.

Much as I'd prefer to win the title and then the FA Cup next season I'd settle for a nice win at Wembley in the play offs .
