Thread: Social Media

    Social Media

Not got a profile for Twitter, pusbook, instagram or any of the other social media groups that exist but I often nosy at the DUFC twitter for updates at the club.
Just perplexed at the comments aimed at Jamie Robson having signed a new deal. I like many others would have been quite happy if he were released as his performances last season in general were poor. However the "venom" of some of the comments towards the lad are ridiculous in my opinion. Stuff about not renewing season ticket, relegation, popstar etc just too much over a 20 year old lad signing a new deal. Hate the whole self obsessed, narcissistic, pretentious hate culture that exists on these sites.
Anyway hoping Robson makes the most of his 2nd chance and plays a lot, lot better than he did last season. I don't think he is much of a player, but he is very young and with the right teammates could see a big improvement.

For Souttar it was that he apparently tried to play too much.

For Fraser it was that he apparently played too much with his hair.

With Robson it's that he apparently thinks he's brilliant.

It now seems that if you're an academy graduate you are to be targeted more and more.

Young lads FFS. Some of the relentless pressure put on ****agers at our club is put of this world.

I follow United on FB and Twitter, the social media platforms allow trolls, funsters, Huns and others to say what they want often spouting bile and vitriol. A bit like this forum really! I think Robson will do well with the right mentor.

I would have Souttar back at the club in a heartbeat and will be gutted when Fraser officially leaves.
The young players get plenty of support early doors but when they develop any kind of flaw they get lambasted. Who in their late ****s, early twenties didn't pose a bit, have a bit of an attitude or do a few daft things?
They aren't robots and I agree too much pressure is put on them.

Agreed mate. Would probably not hear a cheep out of them in person, enjoy being nice and covert behind their keyboard.

I agree too much pressure put on the young lads. They are asked to shoulder a lot at the club at the moment. Not many young lads can play every week and do well. A lot to take with the abuse on social media added in

I really like Fraser and face to face with his detractors in the stand i have stuck up for him, there was one guy in front of me who gave him a hammering everytime he touched the ball during a match and i finally told him to shut up.To be fair to Fraser he came up trumps by scoring a few minutes later.
His most annoying trait by far was to adjust his hair when dispossessed instead of tracking the player who had robbed him of the ball.

    It's embarrassing, phuckin imbeciles

Goodie was a poser when he first broke through and never got that type of abuse despite not doing much early on, don't remember the same bitterness towards our own youth products back then

Robson was poor last season but is young, all is not lost yet

Fraser, ridiculous the criticism he received, very good player

Just a by-product of the vein of poison that sees us supporting a championship side!

Fraser is easily our most talented player. Sad to see him go. Thought him being a United fan he would resign. Obviously has had enough and will be a cracking player with the right manager and playing with better players. Under Levein at Hearts .
