I'm wondering if we are shaping up for a 3-5-2 this year? Which would mean 2 more centre backs, maybe another right wingback (perhaps if Hawkridge stays he could take that role if needed?). Perhaps need a Shola replacement as well, someone to play the battering ram role?

I’m thinking along similar lines Balti..but sticking with 442 with a midfield diamond. If Jones re-signs and with Kellet coming on the left of midfield? the FB’s could have big roles to play definitely.

We need another RB..so will be interesting to see who and give a good idea to how we’ll line up.

I did not think I’d be updating this so much so early but here we are again, another day and another signing. This time central midfielder Will Patching from Man City.

I’ve now also added in the players current age. The average age of the squad is 25.3 years which is very good. Currently Jon Stead is the only signed player over the age of 30.

Andy Kellett doesn't look much like a full back in this clip. I think he's Grant's replacement and will play on the left of midfield. There would be no point in having Jones (if he signs) and Kellett competing for the left full back spot, I think they've realised having two players for each position isn't the best use of the budget. Better to have a smaller squad of flexible players who can cover more than one position.

I think we'll have to wait to see which players accept the contracts offered to them before there's any more transfer action now. Bola, for example would be a pointless signing if Jones signs again (or the other way round, if you prefer). Anyway, I think CB is more of a priority and we know Notts have made an approach for Hall.

Yes, that was my point really. He says there's no point in getting Bola because we've got Jones.

We have DJ and he’s getting better and better the more he works with KN

So we have another existing player who has put pen to paper on a new deal in Dan Jones. One of the more senior members of the squad along with Jon Stead.

So that means we have Tootle, Brisley and Jones out of the 4th best defence in the league signed up for next. The question is now will Duffy sign or will we bring someone in? I would not mind Hall coming back on loan for another season. Likewise that fourth striker if it was Mason Bennet on loan for another chance to see what he can do.

Left Midfield and Central Defence seem the next big gaps to fill.
