Fans will be grateful to know that he's willing to pay however, he just raised both the expectations of fans plus the price of any striker with this statement

It is fair to say that the budget is likely to be better than last years. Increased attendances, decent FA cup run with associated TV revenue, decent league position, not forgetting 12.5% of the combined playoff revenue.
Personally, I feel much better about supporting Notts and how the club is being steered.

I’m prepared to pay thousands and thousands for my next holiday but I probably won’t !
This bloke has more spin than a dodgy politician ! The early bird renewal date for season tickets is this time next week so expect to hear about a few more marquee signings soon ........

So I suppose a striker that is out of favour and wants away is priced at £50,000 to us but £40,000 to anyone else? What if we offered £40,001, would the selling club refuse and sell him elsewhere for £40,000? An extreme example but it follows your logic, and then what if no-one but us offered anywhere the asking price and we then lowered our offer?

Managers make these statements of intent all the time, do you really think anyone but the fans take any notice?

What I take from his article is that he knows he needs to sign two decent strikers to fulfil his stated ambition of getting us out of league 2 next season. That is the aim that he has already publically stated. Notts have had a good year financially in terms of gate receipts, tv money and non football related business. In order to challenge for promotion next year Hardy is going to have to invest some, if not all of that money into buying players.

    This bloke?
    How disrespectful can you be.
‘This bloke’ took over Notts when we were on a 10 game losing streak and were certain for relegation.
In just over a year we’ve finished 5th, had a decent cup run, broken our attendance record, and reduced the price of watching a game.
That’s not a slight improvement, that’s an enormous improvement in a very short space of time.
What more do you want from an owner that has achieved all of that with no previous experience of running a club, has tremendous passion and just wants us to succeed?
People like you really are the worst kind of fan. You will choose to bang on about one or two negatives from a sea of positives.
Go and buy yourself a Man City shirt and be done with it!

Then you will be very disappointed if your expecting to hear about new signings this time next week. It's far too soon for that at the minute. Most players will still be on their holidays etc

We're not going to get the kind of striker he's talking about, even at this level for £40K and at this level and this club, tens of thousands is a lot of money.

Expect to pay at least £100K for what he wants and now other clubs know we have a real shortage of players, expect them to milk it, that's business, sometimes makes you wonder how AH made so much money. It's like playing poker and telling everyone what cards you're holding.
