What a gent. Did loads for the city and its youngsters. Four World Champions out of a lock up gym in Wincobank? We'll never see his like again. RIP

However, as Brendans son said, perhaps his greatest achievement is the number of young boys who would have had very different lives if he'd not taken the time to do what their parents should have done.

Only one in a million can be World Champion, but for every World Champion there are thousands of changed lives thanks to this man.

Even a young man flipping burgers at McDonalds because he knuckled down and got a basic education level instead of hanging around on street corners and eventually ending up in jail, or worse, is just as important when counting up Brendans tremendous successes.

RIP Brendan. the whole city is going to miss you enormously

Cathedral,should be packed to the rafters for his funeral so many people owe him so much,seemed like a really nice bloke he will be sorely missed
