Can we say dropping Dollies these days before the gender police take offence.
You don’t hear of girls called Dolly these days or Dolly might drop a Dolly.
    What happened to Dolly Blue?
    Or DOliviera

No quite a disaster, however, a defeat at the Oval see Lancashire firmly entrenched at the bottom of the County Championship.
They made a valiant attempt but fnished 6 runs short of Surrey with Morkel rescuing Surrey with 6-57 which included all the last 5 wickets to fall today.
Lancashire resumed this afternoon on 177-5 needing another 95 runs to win and we progressed to 203 before Croft was out, he was followed by Bohannon --204-7 and then Mennie at 209-8. There was the na good stand between Onions and Bailey which saw us progress to 256 when Morkel bowled Onions for a creditable 29. Parkinson came in but we ended up 6 runs short when he was caught off Morkel for 7 leaving Bailey on 20 not out, having batted for 86 minutes.

With Lancashire having played 1 game more than all but one of the other counties it is going to be a struggle to avoid relegation.

Good performance against the top side may give some hope?

Very negative attitude BT. Lancashire can still escape because 3 of their last four games are against Worcestershire, Yorkshire and Hampshire who are all at the bottom with us, the other game is against Somerset. Still 5+ weeks to go and, as far as football is concerned, still 37 weeks to go!

Lancashire give themselves some hope by beating Worcester by 6 wickets.
They were chasing 314 to win in the last innings and lost their 6th wicket with the score at 178. An unbeaten stand of 139 by Dane Vilas (107 not out) and Josh Bohannon, in only his second match scoring 78 not out saw Lancs through to the win and still give them a slender hope of dodging the drop although they have played one game more than the other teams. They still have three games to play against Yorkshire, Hampshire and Somerset.
