    FAO Any Car Clever Folk

I have a warning appeared on my motor. "PGM.FI"

I gather thats Programmed Fuel Injector. How serious an issue could this be. I dont fancy driving to Killie with it obviously but in general could this be a bad een? Im nae car minded enough to know the potential of it

Get your dealer to plug the engine management system into their computer.

There’s also usually an owners’ site if some sort that translates these masonic messages.

Gone are the days when a roll of insulating tape and an oily cloot was all you needed to get your disintegrating Ford Anglia going in the morning.

You could try kicking the tyres but I think giving the bonnet a dunt would be more effective.

    Too True.

My uncle's Anglia, RMS 553, took me to my first Dons game in early 66, and to my first Hampden cup final 15 months later. The only trouble we ever had was a puncture on the way hame fae the 67 final, where, eschewing the lifting jack, regarded as ostentatious unbecoming poovery, 3 stout Keith mannies, my Dad included, lifted the car by the wheel arch whilst Uncle Bill removed the wheel and replaced it with the spare.
