The question is whether Terry has had any offers to play in the USA or China.
If he has, you can forget about him coming.
Anyway I don't think he can make it in MLS. It's not a poor league, lots of fast Mexicans and Yankee kids who'd give him a hard time.

He claims to have spoken to Lampard prior to the latter's appointment and is keen to lend a helping hand. I was genuinely surprised at his performances for Villa last season in such a brutal league as ours. I will be even more surprised if he can do it for another term.

Plus he's just 1 injury away from a long lay off. I don't think he's gonna be a good signing for Derby. And if he comes that's surely the end for Keogh wouldn't it?

I know some may point to Michael Dawson joining us. But Dawson's still only 34. That's like a long way from 38. If Terry was 34, I'd say you'd be dumb to reject him.
Dawson's done the job at Spurs and more crucially for Hull last season. As an old boy, I think he's a good signing for us for a couple more seasons.

But of course like Terry, he's at an age where an injury could be curtains.

I didn't see many clubs rushing for Dawsons signature, he's also coming from a club who were further down the league than you.

We haven't got Terry yet but we need him, last season at Villa he was brilliant, at least another season in him and I want it to be here.

It was Rumoured he was on £60,000 a week at Villa, if he came here he'd be on around £30,000 which I think would be good business. Would be like signing him for a million and not paying him wages! IMO he is still the best defender in the Championship but the knowledge and leadership he could provide for Derby could be crucial! Also he'd die for Frank.

Dawson will be 35 before before Terry is 38, if Terry signed for your lot he'd be 37 and Dawson would have been 35 had he signed for us! Apart from that Terry looks the fitter!

It may have already been said, but don't you think that if Terry came here, it would also involve some coaching for us as well?

So, even if injured, he will be able to offer something to the club.

Also one played in a defence that conceded 42 goals and the other in a team that conceded 70

    A staement from Steve Bruce!!!

Villa boss Bruce, whose own future is unclear, said: "I am extremely disappointed we're not in a position to keep John. As you might expect, he was fantastic both on and off the pitch. He will be a massive miss."

The club added in a statement: "John is a true leader and was everything and more that we hoped. Hugely popular and influential in the dressing room, he played a real captain's role in creating the incredible bond the players shared with our supporters, and vice-versa."
