The Millers are 93 years old, this will be our 27th season in the second tier. Take 6 years off for the war, and you have a pretty impressive percentage for a little club.

Correct jock. Not bad at all for a small club. We have had some good players and managers as well in that time.

Only 9 in the last 50 though shows it's become more difficult. Still a pretty good effort though considering our size and the fact we have retained local ownership so far.

In the fifties it was easier to keep hold of your star players, as they were all on the same wage.

It is the best we can hope for to rub shoulders with the big boys now and again, For us to do better the way wealth is distributed in the leagues would need to be much fairer.

Which is not what the FA, the Premier League, Sky TV, Football League, etc, or the government want. Although Huddersfield, Watford , Bournemouth etc have shown what is possible with a bit of cash injection

What are you saying is the government angle. Mike?

What is 'fair' in terms of the way that wealth in the leagues is distributed? If the owners of Bournemouth want to spend their money buying their way into the Prem then that's a matter for them isn't it?

Fantastistic post on the bbc sports report of Sunday's game. From 'the official review', "Man Utd would embarrass both these pub teams". Brilliant!
Also another post suggested that most football fans will have never heard of either team. Excellent!
    I blame Sky sports.
