    Sam Byram

Thoughts? Reportedly not wanted by West Ham and is unlikely to attract PL interest having barely played and spent a lot of time injured.

Honestly thought he was over rated when he left us and seems that is bearing fruit not as good as Taylor but thought he was good for us and would be again.

2/3 million would be a good investment on him I think.

he wont come back here . he as been on premiership wages for years ,it would be a step backwards for him

he is still better than ninety per cent of this squad that is here, thats for sure.

Wouldn't pay a transfer fee for him tbh, suspect that after he got that injury with us, he wasn't the same player. Would take him on a free.

Don't think wages would be an issue, he didn't make it at West Ham, not sure any premiership clubs would take a punt. So he would have to expect championship wages.

Smart move would be for him to come back, to a fan base that would encourage and support him, whilst he rebuilt his career.

Be nice to have feedback on whether him not playing much was directly linked to his injuries, or was he simply not good enough to get past those in the team? Going to be a gamble either way I guess... Anyone know when was the last time he spent a reasonable duration on the park??

When he was fit he was their only natural fit right back, they opted to play someone else out of position, that suggests they didn't think he was good enough

No, no, no! We may not be in the PL, but there is a reason (reasons) he hasn't played there. He hasn't made the grade, has been injured more than he has been fit, and he wouldn't fit into the wage structure at Leeds.

Was disappointed when he left, hoped he would stay to help us get promotion. Maybe he was right to go, given the subsequent events at Leeds, who knows? Anyway, not interested in yet another punt on a crocked PL player, next.

He was fit for a lot of the time and just didn't get picked and when he did he didn't look up to much.

Byram won't solve all our problems but I do think he is worth a risk.

Lets be honest he isn't going to cost a lot in wages as he has no leverage at the moment, he is essentially a PL failure with a poor injury history so he isn't going to get picked up by another PL team. His best option is a championship team taking him on significantly less than what he is on now, he is 24 so it is not like he is a 20/21 year old starlet.

If we could get him for 2m on a 15k (completely possible given his situation) contract for 2/3 years I see it is a very good piece of business. He knows Leeds, he has proven he can do it and he can play a variety of positions.

He was out injured for much of the latter part of 2017/early 2018, then got injured again in March and hasn't played since.

We need quality, fitness, potential, passion. We do not need cheap, crocked, has-been, desperate.
